No, I think they were fine with being gummy. Which is still kind of gross, and there's nothing wrong with a few nips anyway.

I imagine the inability to chew your own food stops most people from being gummy. I hear it's quite the drawback.

Ah, while I appreciate the compliment, a clever tongue only helps in the short term really. After a while, it's all "Maker's breath, you again?" and "Don't make me call the guard!" Not very encouraging when you want to avoid the unsavory.

My sister laughs, sometimes. Other times, it's a sort of... hollow disappointment. I'm never quite sure which to expect.

My own sister is much too old for me to police that. And we happen to be acquainted with a... pirate who enjoys teasing her. Mostly I just watch in horror.
